Scholarship Information

Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association (RRHBA) annual scholarship program was established in 1990 in order to provide assistance to qualified area high school seniors and Virginia Tech students who are furthering their education in a building related curriculum.

2016 Recipients

2016-scholarship-winnersMitchell Reavis, of Roanoke, will soon complete his second year towards a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering at Virginia Tech – for which he currently carries a 3.37 GPA. Mitchell has participated in the Relay for Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society and the Big Event at Virginia Tech which is a community service event involving approximately 8,000 students and faculty. Mitchell said that he will eventually work in the Roanoke Blacksburg area and bring revitalization as well as innovation to the region.

Daniel Webb, of Vinton, plans to earn a BS degree in Electrical Engineering program from Virginia Tech. In June, Daniel will graduate from William Byrd High School GPA of 4.3. Daniel’s resume is impressive and clearly demonstrates his strong determination.

High School Senior Scholarship

RRHBA in partnership with Atlantic Bay Mortgage proudly awards a one-time $500 scholarship to a qualified area high school senior who will be furthering their education in a building-related curriculum. See below for more details on how to qualify for the High School Senior Scholarship.

Virginia Tech Building Construction Program or Virginia Western Community College Scholarship

The intent and goal of RRHBA, by offering a one-time $500 scholarship, is to assist promising young people who are pursuing a career in the construction industry. It is the belief of RRHBA that the construction industry is advanced by education in the curricula of construction, civil engineering, surveying, architecture, and real estate.
